Registration is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. An administrative fee of 50 USD will be charged to modify an existing registration (This does not include cancellation). No modifications will be accepted after April 1^st, 2026.

Participants who wish to take advantage of the conference rate for accommodation (maximum 2 days before and 2 days after | June 5-6 & June 12-13) can submit a request by writing to: info@calphad2026.org, indicating their first and last names and order number, no later than March 30, 2026. Additional nights are at the participants’ expense and will be charged at check-in at the hotel.

For environmental considerations, the complete program will be distributed in PDF format. If desired, a printed copy is available at an extra cost of 15 USD.

Please note that there will be no formal breakfasts included. Pastries and coffee will be served in the conference centre each morning before the start of the first session.

There will be no on-site registration.

For accompanying person (with a general participant), the registration fee includes

• Three accompanying persons’ tours (extra options may be offered at an additional cost).
• Cruise & Conference Banquet
• 5 nights from June 7^th (check-in) to 12^th (check-out) at the Delta Hotel

If the room blocks are full, we will offer the option of registering without hotel accommodation.

Scholarships for Students 

The following scholarships will be available for students who will attend CALPHAD 2026. 

The Larry Kaufman Scholarship for Students (LKSS) 

CALPHAD, Inc. will offer up to twenty Larry Kaufman Scholarships to students who will give presentations at the CALPHAD meeting. The scholarships will cover the registration fee for the CALPHAD meeting and accommodation (in a double room). In order to apply, the following documents in PDF format must be submitted by February 28, 2026, by e-mail to info@calphad2026.org.  

The subject line should be: Kaufman Scholarship. 

Requirements 

1. Register as attendee (to register visit the Registration page). 

2. A contributed abstract to the CALPHAD meeting (note that it should also be submitted following the abstract submission procedure). 

3. An application letter explaining their motivation (one page maximum). 

4. A brief biographical note (one page maximum). 

5. A support letter from the thesis advisor (one page maximum). 

Rooms are shared by two people. If you do not designate a roommate on registration, the conference will assign a room at its discretion. In this case, you may be asked for additional personal information. If you do not agree to the room assignment by the conference, we recommend you to use other hotels near the conference venue. However, in this case, hotel expenses will not be covered.

Caregiver Grant 

We are pleased to introduce a new “Caregiver Grant” for young Calphadians attending CALPHAD 2026 with their children (under 4 years old during the conference date). 

This grant is designed to support attendees by covering the registration fee for trusted caregivers, typically an accompanying person. 

• The grant will cover the accompanying person’s registration fee, 1000 USD. 

• Eligible children must be 4 years old or younger during the conference date. 

• A maximum of two children per attending couple can be considered. 

• Free baby bed is provided, if it is available (only for 1 year old or less). 

• Extra bed can be provided with extra payment. 

• Children older than 4 years old must register as an accompanying person.

Conference excursion and dinner | June 10^th 2026 

During this unique activity, participants will have the opportunity to visit Wendake (located 30 minutes from Quebec City) to learn more about Canadian First Nations culture. In the afternoon, they will be invited to choose between two activities, one more active, the other less so: 

• Group A: Musée Huron-Wendat Visit (includes longhouse, museum and workshops) 

• Group B: Huron traditional site visit (maple surprise, a longhouse, a dance demonstration, etc.) 

Afterwards, all participants will be invited to the Sagamité restaurant for a traditional cocktail (including a drink and two bites), followed by a three-course meal featuring traditional First Nations cuisine. 

Finally, after this delicious meal, they will be invited to participate to take a look at Myths & Legends at Onhwa Lumina and walk the path to the Onhwa Lumina at night. 

Award Banquet on St-Lawrence River | June 11^th 2026 

Participants can enjoy a 3.5-hour cruise on the St. Lawrence River with a visit to breathtaking sites such as Montmorency Falls and Ile d’Orléans while enjoying a three-course meal. A unique panoramic view of Quebec City awaits you.  

Visa application 

A valid passport and a Canadian visa are mandatory for entry to Canada. For more information, visit the IRCC website . If in doubt, please contact respective embassy in your country to inquire about the requisite documentation for visa issuance. It is strongly advised to initiate the visa application process at least three months before your departure to Canada, as the processing time may vary.

The secretariat will issue official invitation letters upon request. These invitations are intended to assist prospective attendees in securing funding or acquiring visas. It is important to note that such invitations do not constitute a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide financial support. 

Entry to Canada and access to the conference venue 

There are many ways to enter Canada. Many major hubs in north American have direct flights to Jean-Lesage International Airport such as: Dallas, Newark/JFK, Philadelphia, Chicago, Paris, Toronto, Vancouver, Paris, etc.

1. From Jean-Lesage International Airport (YQB) to the Convention Center 

A 20-minute drive from the Jean-Lesage International Airport. We recommend taking a taxi from the airport. | To take a taxi | To rent a car 

To get there by bus | Take RTC bus 80 from the airport (Aérogare bus stop) to Place Jacques-Cartier (Dorchester bus stop). Estimated time: 55 minutes. 

From Place Jacques-Cartier, walk 20 minutes or transfer to another local bus, such as route 3, 28, 800 or 801 (one of the many local routes headed toward Place d’Youville) to reach the Québec Convention Center. The center is a short walk from Place d’Youville or the Saint-Roch district. Estimated

2. From Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Convention Center 

A three-hour drive from Montréal-Trudeau International Airport. | To rent a car | 

To get there by bus | The 747 bus line runs 24/7 between YUL and downtown Montréal. The line runs between the ‘’Gare d’autocars de Montréal’’ Bus Station (located at the Berri-UQAM metro station) and YUL and makes 11 stops, including one at the Lionel-Groulx metro station. The trip takes 60 minutes.  

Once you arrive at the downtown Montréal bus station, take the bus to downtown Québec City^**. This trip takes three hours and fifteen minutes.
